September 1st 2023: Welcome to our new PhD student Rita Maria Kenaan El Rahbani who I will co-supervize with Davide Brambilla.
August 22 2023: Our laboratory has received funding from the Cancer Research Society (CRS, SRC en français). Our project entitled Metabolic pathways control IRF-1 expression and improve response to immunotherapy in melanoma will be funded for 2 years! We are recruiting MSc/PhD students who will work on various aspects of this amazing project!
August 3 2023: We received an Alliance International Catalyst Grant (ALLRP) from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) for a project entitled "Design of nanoparticles for the targeted delivery of non-integrating constructs" with Davide Brambilla (co-PIs).
July 20 2023: We received funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) with Davide Brambilla (co-PIs). The project entitled Long-lasting recovery of lysosomal acid lipase deficiency using non-viral delivery of non-integrating episomal DNA constructs will be funded for 4 years.
May 2 2023: Our student Matthias Zadory (co-supervision with Davide Brambilla) has received a prestigious PhD scolarship from the Fonds de recherhe en santé du Québec (FRQS). Congratulations Matthias!
April 13 2023: Our laboratory has received funding from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC, CRSNG en français). Our research program entitled Investigating mitochondrial biogenesis rheostat functions in skin aging : stress sensing and control of immunometabolic landscapes will be funded for 5 years! We invite passionate young scientists to join our team to work on exciting new projects on keratinocyte metabolism and immune response.
March 31 2023: Our former graduate student Katherine Coutu-Beaudry (MSc, 2022) has won the Price of the best research article from our research axis published in 2022-2023. She was a co-first author with Karl Laurin on our article in Cancer Letters published in 2022 DOI: 10.1016/j.canlet.2022.215738. Congratulations Katherine!
Feb 9 2023: Our student Matthias Zadory (co-supervision with Davide Brambilla) won second place in our research axis' Elevator Pitch competition. Congratulations Matthias!
